Awards for junior scientists were supported by the NIH, Heartland Assays and Elsevier. The 2019 Young Investigator awards were presented in honor of Howard Morris, PhD. The 2019 Trainee Travel awards were presented in honor of Ron Horst, PhD. Winners were chosen based on abstract ranking.

The Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Molecular Biology published a Special Issue for the 22nd Vitamin D Workshop Proceedings. Attendees who presented at the 2019 Workshop were eligible to submit a manuscript describing their work. All manuscripts underwent peer review according to standard journal practices.
