Dr. Tony Norman initiated the first Vitamin D Workshop in Frankfurt, Germany in 1973. Since 2012, the conferences have attracted ~250 scientists from 30+ countries every year.
The Workshop Executive Committee is the Board of Directors for the Vitamin D Workshop. Members are internationally recognized PhD and MD scientists with active research programs in Vitamin D. The Chair for each annual meeting is chosen from the WEC members.
Current WEC members include James Fleet (2019 Chair), Martin Hewison (Secretary), JoEllen Welsh (CFO), John White, Peter Ebeling, Geert Carmeliet, Moray Campbell, Reinhold Erben, Carlos Bernal-Mizrachi, Margherita Cantorna, Eniko Kallay, Mairead Kiely, Inez Schoenmakers and ex-officio founding members Roger Bouillon and Anthony Norman.
The Program Adivsory Committee (PAC) is an international group of approximately 30 active research scientists with expertise in vitamin D. PAC members assist the WEC in program planning, abstract ranking and review of manuscripts for the conference proceedings. PAC members are elected by the WEC and serve for 3 years.
Roxanne Hall of Meetings Plus! is the official meeting planner for the Vitamin D Workshops. Meetings Plus! has organized every Vitamin D Workshop since 2012.
